Most development in this area took place after the railway line from Inglewood had been constructed from 1882.

Barakee.

The Telegraph Office opened at the Railway Station in January 1884.

A T.O. Barrakee date stamp was issued for use with telegrams.

Size: 27 mm diameter (has 3 mm and 2.5 mm side arcs).

Used: 15 September 1934 and 22 February 1948.

Rated: RR.

Number in the Census: 4.

Boort. The Telegraph Office was opened in July 1883 at the Railway Station with a separate Telegraph office opening in May 1884.
The Office was issued with a 1 hole Belt & Buckle date stamp. Used in black: 21 August 1891 to 19 October 1891 (2 months only). Size: ? × 27 mm (never seen complete). Rated: RRRR.	21 August 1891 (earliest recorded date). Provenance: Hugh Freeman, Johnstone.

Charlton.

The Telegraph Office at Charlton East was opened in January 1878. A second office was opened at the Railway Station in July 1883.

Charlton was the 5th Office to be issued with
a 1 hole Belt & Buckle date stamp.

Used in blue: 26 July 1882 to 1 August 1889.

Size: 27 × 38 mm (e = 0.70).

Rated: RRRR.

Glenloth.

The Telegraph Office opened at the Railway Station in November 1884.

Korong Vale.

Telegraph facilities were made available to the public at the Railway Station from 25 May 1882.

A Post Office was opened in May 1879.

Mysia.

Mysia is between Boort and Korong Vale.

A Post Office opened at Mysia on 6 June 1877 and it closed on 8 June 1895. Meanwhile a Post Office was opened at Mysia Railway Station on 5 November 1883 whch changed its name to Mysia on 25 October 1911.

The Telegraph Office at Mysia was then opened at the Railway Station on 25 October 1911. That operated as a separate office until it closed about 1916.

Wedderburn.

The Telegraph Office at Wedderburn was opened in February 1876. Until 1858, the town was known as Korong.

A Telegraph Office was opened nearby at the Wedderburn Road Railway Station in January 1884.

Other telegraph Offices were opened at Wedderburn Junction R.S. and Wedderburn R.S. about 1910. They closed in 1911 and 1916 respectively.

The Office was issued with a 1 hole Belt & Buckle date stamp.

Used in black: 16 June 1891 and 20 June 1892.

Wycheproof. The Telegraph Office was opened in October 1883 at the Railway Station while the Post Office was opened on 1 April 1884 to replace an earlier one serving the surrounding area. The area around the town was renamed Moffat in 1883. The Office was issued with a Belt & Buckle date stamp which was used in at least two if not three formats. It is thought a 1 hole format may have been issued but it has not been seen.
